The activists took a strong stance against the billionaire lifestyle, evident through their banner message, “You Consume Others Suffer.” They painted this message along with red and black paint on the vessel. They voiced their belief that the world’s wealthiest 1% contribute more pollution than the poorest half of the population. This disparity, they argue, condemns future generations to a world of “pain, misery, and desolation.”
The activists also expressed their outrage at the potential damage to the planet’s habitability due to extravagant living standards that they consider unreasonable. They believe this lavish lifestyle significantly compromises the environment.
Ownership of the Vandalized Yacht
Multiple shipping industry news platforms have identified the owner of the vandalized yacht. They claim the yacht belongs to Nancy Walton Laurie, a billionaire heiress of the Walmart empire.

The Civil Guard in Spain quickly responded to the incident and arrested two men believed to be responsible for the vandalism. The activist group issued a statement on their social platforms after the event. They suggested that maintaining an economic system leading to “eco-social collapse” is solely to preserve the privileges of the privileged class.

The group also highlighted the campaign ‘Jets and Yachts, the party is over,’ led by Extinction Rebellion Ibiza. This movement demands an end to luxury broadcasts and the banning of private jets.
