Residents Affected by Fire in Playa d’en Bossa Ibiza: “We Heard Many Noises Before the Blaze”
A fire in Playa d’en Bossa Ibiza has destroyed several businesses and forced residents to evacuate their homes early this morning. The blaze broke out on Carrer de les Alzines, affecting a bar, a motorcycle rental shop, and an ATM.
Early Morning Blaze Destroys Businesses
At around 5:55 am, firefighters were called to an urban fire on Carrer de les Alzines in Playa d’en Bossa Ibiza. The fire in Playa d’en Bossa Ibiza engulfed two commercial establishments: a bar and a motorcycle rental shop. According to the local Instagram account @exponiendoibizaa, the fire also affected an ATM situated between the two businesses.
Residents Forced to Evacuate
Several residents had to leave their homes due to the fire in Playa d’en Bossa Ibiza. Josef, who lives above the bar, shared his experience: “At five in the morning, we were sleeping and heard noises downstairs. Someone was shouting. Half an hour later, my wife woke up saying, ‘I smell smoke!’. We went to the terrace and saw the fire.”
Josef mentioned that his home suffered damage, especially items on the balcony like doors and appliances. “We’ve been out of the house since five in the morning until ten or eleven. We couldn’t grab our things,” he added.
Authorities Investigate Cause of Fire
The cause of the blaze remains unknown. Local authorities are currently investigating the origin of the fire. Firefighters, the Civil Guard, and local police responded promptly to the incident. Two people were treated on-site for smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalisation.

Fire in Playa D’en Bossa: Aftermath of the Incident
By 9:30 am, emergency services were still present at the scene. The affected residents have been rehoused, and the street remains closed to traffic. The interiors of the businesses are severely damaged. Burnt motorcycles can be seen inside the rental shop, and the bar’s interior is charred black.
Business owners have contacted their insurance companies to begin the recovery process. The structural damage includes twisted beams and destroyed terraces. Despite the devastation, some items like the beer taps and potted plants have remarkably survived.
