Manchester Mums Take 12-Hour Holiday in Ibiza: How They Did It
A group of mums from Manchester, UK, took a 12-hour long holiday to Ibiza, Spain, and got home in time for the school run. The six women bagged return flights for just €38 each, allowing them to enjoy a day in the sun together. Here’s how they did it.
Booking the Trip
Rebecca Rattcliff, a travel consultant from Manchester, organized the trip with her group of friends. They found Ryanair flights on Skyscanner and decided to fly out of Manchester Airport early on a Sunday morning. They booked the flights in February 2023 and flew to Ibiza on Sunday 26th March 2023.
The Day Trip
The mums only had one day free together due to their childcare and work commitments, so they had to fly to and from Ibiza in just 12 hours. They arrived in Ibiza just after 9 am and explored the scenic marina before having cocktails overlooking the bay. They then went to San Antonio bay, where they sunbathed on the beach, did 26k steps exploring, and enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Bresca.
The mums also watched the sunset at Café Mambo before being picked up to go back to the airport. Despite a 40-minute delay, the women returned to Manchester early Monday morning, ready for work and the school run.

Costs and Savings
The trip cost each of the mums just €38 for the return flights, and they only had to bring a handbag each, saving on baggage fees. They paid €12 each for a return minibus to Manchester Airport and 27 euros each to travel around the island. The women used biodegradable towels that fit in handbags and expand when wet, saving on beach towel costs.
