Six Luxury Watches Thieves Captured by National Police in Ibiza
The National Police recently succeeded in arresting six luxury thieves in Ibiza. The group, which specialized in stealing high-end watches from unsuspecting tourists, consisted of five individuals of Arab descent and one French, with ages ranging from 29 to 36 years old.
The Theft Ring
Within the busy crowds of holidaymakers in Ibiza, these criminals saw a lucrative opportunity. Their strategy was a cunning one:
- They targeted tourists in popular areas.
- Three or four members would track the potential victim.
- They would strike swiftly and unexpectedly, ensuring an escape route.
- They resorted to violence when necessary to ensure success.
Crimes Committed
Upon their arrival on the island, two high-end watch thefts were reported to the Ibiza Police Station. Through rigorous investigations, the police identified these individuals as the culprits behind the robberies, which occurred in es Vive/Playa d’en Bossa and Paseo Juan Carlos I areas.
One particular incident saw the culprits resorting to an alarming level of violence; they attacked and beat the victim to the ground while incapacitating him with pepper spray. The prize? A high-precision, high-end wristwatch.
Police Operation and Arrests
The Police made the initial arrests of four of the group members as they were preparing to leave the island with counterfeit documentation. These criminals had implemented numerous precautions to impede any investigations and obscure the connections among them. During the arrest, the Police recovered one of the stolen watches hidden in their possessions.
A day later, two more arrests were made, with another stolen watch found. Interestingly, all six criminals utilized counterfeit documents for all their transactions and logistics – from hotel reservations to vehicle rentals.
Luxury Thieves in Ibiza: Conclusion
With the arrest of these six individuals, the Police have not only dismantled a criminal group but also recovered two high-end watches, one valued at 45,000 euros.
