Jet2 Ibiza Filght: Holidaymakers experienced an unexpected turn of events when a Jet2 flight to Ibiza had to make an abrupt return to Manchester Airport. Departing 30 minutes late at 5:45pm yesterday, the flight destined for the sun-kissed Balearic island had to change its course and return to its origin.

The LS191 was scheduled to touch down in Ibiza at 9pm, according to the Manchester Evening News. However, just 30 minutes into the flight, while flying over the English Channel, the pilot altered the flight’s path and directed it back towards Manchester.
The flight path indicated the plane’s northern trajectory towards Manchester. It circled twice over the Peak District before making a safe landing back at Manchester Airport. Multiple online reports attributed the unexpected diversion to ‘technical’ and ‘communication issues’.
