Ibiza Global Festival: A Lively Second Edition Draws Thousands
Once again, the picturesque beach of s’Arenal de Sant Antoni thrummed with life and music as thousands gathered for the exhilarating experience of the Ibiza Global Festival. This sustainable music event, powered by Ibiza Global Radio, has clearly outdone itself in its second year, offering not just music but an emphasis on environmental responsibility.
The Alluring Beginning:
Starting at 5:00 p.m., the day began rather subtly due to the soaring temperatures. But as the day cooled, the famed Portmanyina beach witnessed an increasing influx of eager festival-goers. Notably, many tourists and intrigued passersby spontaneously joined the fun, perhaps drawn in by the magnetic beats emanating from the venue or the sight of the gathering crowd.
More Than Just Music:
But this wasn’t just any electronic music festival. What set the Ibiza Global Festival apart were its admirable sustainable initiatives:
- Eco-friendly Volunteers: It was a common sight to see young volunteers diligently picking up litter from the beach, ensuring the event’s impact was as minimal as possible.
- Plastic-Free Approach: The festival proudly adopted a plastic-free ethos, reflecting in its choice of materials.
- Green Power: Renewable energy sources lit up the stage, mirroring the event’s commitment to a greener earth.
Star-studded Performances:
Joen Le Fou, the renowned Italian DJ regularly featured on Ibiza Global Radio, set the stage on fire with the first performance. Following him, the Italian duo James My & Cris, who have dominated the underground scene since 2014, further amped up the energy. Marta Taddei, a familiar face from the festival’s inaugural edition, took over next, followed by electrifying sets from Biirdperson and Nomad. As Carlos, a Sant Antoni local, aptly put it, “It’s an incredible initiative not only for Sant Antoni residents but also to boost tourism.”
Continuing the night, Ibiza Global Radio’s resident DJ Reff, Igor Marijuan, and Alex Kennon showcased their talents. But the pinnacle awaited near midnight when the legendary DJ Roger Sanchez stepped onto the stage. As Gema, another Sant Antoni resident, excitedly shared, “Last year was a surprise with Luciano’s performance. This year, with Roger Sanchez today and Nic Fanciulli tomorrow, they’ve certainly maintained the standard.”
Conclusion:
The second edition of the Ibiza Global Festival not only offered a musical haven for electronic music enthusiasts but also exemplified how such large-scale events can operate sustainably. As attendees left with melodies ringing in their ears and memories of a beach illuminated by renewable energy, it’s clear that this festival has set a benchmark for future editions and other events worldwide.
