Ibiza celebrates Balearic Islands Day
Discover the Festivities and Events at Ibiza’s Balearic Islands Day Celebration!
Today marks the commemoration of Balearic Islands Day, which coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Autonomy Statute. The central events will take place at Sant Rafel Hippodrome, starting at 11 am, featuring a performance by the Colla de Sant Rafel and representatives of the Federation of Colles de Baile y Cultura Popular de Ibiza, an institutional speech by the president of the Consell de Ibiza, Vicent Marí, a parade of carriages, and a tasting of local products.
Activities for all ages
Attendees will be treated to a Minorcan horse show, a trotting trophy, inclusive petanque by the ADDIF Club, and activities for children throughout the day, including traditional games, creative workshops, and inflatables.
Children’s workshops
The little ones can enjoy children’s workshops featuring painting, clay modeling, and other creative activities.
Motorcycle festival and craft market
In addition to the festivities, the Moto Base Balearic Islands Day event will be held at the sa Pedrera Sports Center starting at 9:30 am. The Abel Matutes Boulevard in Ibiza will also host the Balearic Islands Craft Market on March 4 and 5, featuring 22 artisans from Ibiza, Formentera, and Mallorca, as well as three Ibiza artisan associations conducting demonstrations. The Colla de l’Horta will also be present, showcasing clothing, espadrilles, and instrument-making.
Motocross events
Finally, on March 4 and 5, the Motocross Base and Absolute categories will be featured in Santa Gertrudis at 10 am and 9 am, respectively.
