Former Assistant Accuses Paul Oakenfold of Sexual Harassment
At Repeat Ibiza, we prioritize the safety and inclusivity of the music industry. Recent accusations of sexual harassment against Grammy-nominated trance DJ, Paul Oakenfold, by his former personal assistant have raised significant concerns. We recognize the severity of these allegations and are dedicated to fostering a culture that values individual rights and dignity. Our focus is on highlighting the issue, assisting survivors, and preventing such incidents.
The Sexual Harassment Allegations and Lawsuit
A 24-year-old woman, referred to as Jane Roe, filed a lawsuit against Paul Oakenfold for sexual harassment at the Los Angeles Superior Court on June 2nd. Jane Roe served as Oakenfold’s personal assistant at New Frequency Management, the company managing Oakenfold. The lawsuit accuses Oakenfold of multiple instances of sexual harassment and violation of employment rights.
Jane Roe asserts that Oakenfold exposed himself and masturbated in front of her multiple times, starting from their first working day together in his home. According to the lawsuit, these incidents occurred as often as four times a day during November 2022, including one event in the passenger seat of her car.
Reports of Sexual Harassment and Non-Disclosure Agreement
Jane Roe reported these disturbing events to Paul Stepanek, the CEO of New Frequency Management. The lawsuit suggests that she felt forced to sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) before resuming work. After signing the NDA “under duress”, Jane Roe returned to work but was no longer Oakenfold’s personal assistant and had her working hours significantly cut. She ended her employment with New Frequency Management in March 2023 due to “lack of work” and is seeking damages for wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, and failure to prevent harassment.

We, at Repeat Ibiza, vehemently condemn any form of sexual harassment and stand with survivors. Our commitment extends beyond words as we actively work to educate, create awareness, and implement policies to prevent sexual harassment.
