In the wake of the devastating DANA storm, Ibiza and Formentera have stepped up to support the Valencian Community. Numerous collection points have been established to gather essential donations, demonstrating the islands’ solidarity and commitment to aiding those affected.
Sant Jordi Market: A Hub of Generosity
This Sunday, the Mercadillo de Sant Jordi transforms into a solidarity centre. Visitors can donate supplies such as blankets, non-perishable food, water, and items for animals. Additionally, mobile phone batteries, candles, and flashlights are needed to support those impacted by the storm.
Sa Raval’s Sportswear Drive
Sa Raval is spearheading a campaign to collect sportswear for Valencia DANA relief efforts. Pepiyo Gutiérrez, the president of Sa Raval, encourages local clubs to donate surplus or outdated sports clothing. Donations can be delivered directly to the Local Police Station for distribution.
Sant Antoni Police Station: A Trusted Collection Point
The Sant Antoni Police Local has already received numerous donation bags. Residents can continue to contribute essential items, ensuring swift assistance to those in need.
The Protection Civil vehicle of Consell Insular de Formentera will dispatch the first shipment on Sunday, 3rd November.
Sant Josep Town Hall’s Contribution
On Monday, 4th November, the Sant Josep Town Hall will open a collection point from 10 AM to 2 PM in front of the town square. The team will transport all donations to Valencia on Tuesday, 5th November, ensuring timely aid.
Can Tina and Es Mercat’s Charity Meal
The Can Tina Restaurant and Es Mercat have organised a charity meal priced at €20. The organisers will donate proceeds from the meal, featuring local delicacies like paella valenciana and buñuelos de bacalao, to Valencia DANA relief efforts. The event takes place on Saturday, 2nd November.
Trasmapi’s Essential Goods Drive
Trasmapi invites the community to donate non-perishable food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and pet food at their offices. These contributions will directly support those affected by the DANA storm.

Melanie, a student in Valencia, has launched a campaign to collect essential materials. Once she raises sufficient funds, she plans to purchase and deliver supplies to the collection point near her home, further aiding the relief efforts.
Formentera Joins the Cause
Local Police and Parish Support
In Formentera, the Local Police have raised approximately €1,000 to assist families in Algemesí severely impacted by the DANA storm. Additionally, the Salçon Parroquial de Sant Ferran serves as another donation centre from 9 AM to 8 PM. The Protection Civil vehicle of Consell Insular de Formentera will transport the first shipment on Sunday, 3rd November.
