Cala Tarida – A Beautiful Beach on the West Coast of Ibiza
Discover the hidden gems and tourist activities at Cala Tarida
Cala Tarida is a stunning beach situated on the enchanting west coast of Ibiza, alongside two other beautiful beaches, Cala Bassa and Cala Comte. Although it has suffered from some construction around it, it has not lost its magic touch and still attracts tourists and locals alike.
Family Fun at Cala Tarida
Family tourism and adventurous cliff jumping are popular activities at Cala Tarida. The beach offers a wide sandy area for kids to play in, while adventurous visitors can swim to Sa Sabata island and jump off its cliffs. The beach also offers a magnificent view of the sunset that can be enjoyed from its open west-facing location.
From this beach there are excellent views to see the sunset, since it is completely open to the west. However, in early summer we will not be able to see the sun fall into the sea: it is better to wait until the end of summer to see the sun go down below the horizon and ‘hide’ under the sea.
The Best Places to Eat on Cala Tarida Beach
Cala Tarida has a range of dining options available to visitors. The Cas Milà restaurant offers exquisite Ibizan food and an unforgettable sunset view from its terrace. Ses Eufabies is another beachside restaurant where you can dine and enjoy the view.
It should be said that the beach is open and is quite exposed to the easterly winds. If the wind blows from this direction, it is possible that we will find waves and the water removed. Usually, this wind is more frequent in winter, so you shouldn’t have any problem taking a dip in summer, but it is better to be warned.
The beach is around one kilometer long and is clearly divided into different sections. Visitors can also find hidden gems by exploring the surrounding coves, such as Es Calonet, which is a beautiful and isolated cove surrounded by boathouses.
The secret beaches of Cala Tarida
Many visitors to this beach are only left with what they see at first glance: a beach with good services and clean water and little else..
We hope that by reading this page you have earned the right to know some of the secrets of this wonderful beach. If we go along the right-hand side of this cove, we find two more coves, usually solitary and with difficult access (it is recommended to come with closed shoes to avoid slipping).
How to get there?
Getting to Cala Tarida is easy. Visitors can take the turnoff from San Antonio Bay towards Platges de Comte and Cala Bassa beaches, or follow the detour from Sant Josep, which leads to Cala Vedella or Cala Molí. Visitors are advised to arrive early as parking can be limited.
Tip from us: The beach is usually crowded, so we have to get up early if we do not want to have problems finding parking.
