Cala Comte – One of Ibiza’s Most Beautiful Beaches
Explore Three Stunning Beach Areas with a Spectacular Backdrop
Located in San Antonio, Ibiza, Cala Comte is a stunning beach that boasts three beautiful areas to explore with a spectacular backdrop. Its crystal clear waters and stunning views of the islets along the coast of Ibiza make it one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Beach Areas and Activities
There are two stretches of sand at Cala Comte, one protected by the rocky coast and the other by sand dunes. The shallow waters are safe for children, and the clear blue waters are as inviting as a swimming pool. However, swimming far from the shore should be done with caution as there are strong currents in the area. The underwater rocky areas also make Cala Comte an interesting place for snorkeling.
Sunset View and Chiringuitos
Cala Comte is also known as one of the best beaches to watch the sunset. Many people gather on land or aboard yachts to admire the spectacular view. The two main beaches are separated by the Sunset Ashram restaurant, which has a fantastic panoramic view and a creative design that blends with the rock on which it sits. DJs also visit the restaurant during sunset to play music.
Walking along the cliffs to the right leads to two restaurants with stunning views. Both are fantastic places to eat seafood. It is recommended to make a reservation upon arrival at the beach if you want to eat there or stay late for the sunset.
Third Cala – Cala Escondida
A third smaller cove, called Cala Escondida by locals, is located at the western end of Cala Conta. It can be reached by stairs carved into the rock from the top of the cliffs. Cala Escondida is popular among nudists and has a small chiringuito that offers healthy food and an eco-friendly bathroom.
Accommodation and Access
A short drive from Cala Comte, both the Bay of San Antonio and San Antonio town present varied accommodation options. The luxurious 7Pines Resort Ibiza, just 20 minutes away on foot, offers magnificent sea views and welcomes non-guests to its spa, restaurants, and bars.
Direct beach parking has been discontinued due to a barrier. However, ample space exists before this barrier. Street parking is off-limits, and police actively fine violators. In summer, you can reach the beach by car, bus, taxi, or ferry. Ferries set off from San Antonio port, and buses are available from various bay stops.
Services and Amenities
Visitors to Cala Comte can avail sun loungers, parasols, beach shops, lifeguard services, and wheelchair access. Jet ski rentals are also on offer.
Cala Comte remains a highlight in Ibiza. Its allure, pristine waters, and diverse beach spots make it a favorite among families, groups, and solo explorers.
